Bilit Lodge

No rain overnight or this morning so the am cruise was a go.
After a slighy restless night with some dreams of leeches, I was up at 5am.
They served tea and then we pushed off at 6am.
The early morning wad foggy but soon it lifted and was quite nice. We headed upstream rather than down this time.

A very good cruise, we saw lots of macaque - some swimming across the river- and lot of black and white horn bills, not the rhinoceros hornbill that we saw last night. We also saw a mangrove snake ( yellow stripes mildly poisonous) and a monitor in a tree.

I am hoping I got good shots but from what I can see on the viewer, steve's are better. Difficult to hold still in the boat but I guess that I am not that steady anyway

Rest in the room after breakfast and then after lunch we go to Bilit Village

Bilit village was interesting. About 300 families, 38 children under 12 in school
A laundry and tiny store with tiny restaurant (one or two tables)
A community centre and that's about it. We ended our little tour with tea in the first family home with pleasant conversation with our guide, Kurt and our town guide.

Back on boat to lodge and straight back onto another boat for the evening cruise. Some hornbills - bkk/wht - and some proboscis monkeys ...and a monitor... But not much in the way off great photos

Dinner at 7:30 was good, a shower and pill to sleep. Set alarm again for 5 am to go on another 6 am cruise

No connection tonite with data roaming on My Maxis network
So this post will go up tomorrow... After Labuk Bay Proboscis Feeding area
