Leaving Bilit

Woke in middle of the night and saw it was raining, but by 5am when I was supposed to get up for the am cruise, it was not raining, so off I went

There were 5 of us, 2 French couples and me. Steve had decided to sleep in.

We were doing really well ... Spotting wild Orangutans .. But then the rain started again and we raced back to the lodge. We were pretty far out and we all got soaked.

Had to change quickly, have a fast breakfast and check out.
On the road at 8:30am we arrived at Labok Bay Proboscis Sanctuary around 11am
First feeding was at 11:30am but as soon as we arrived at platform B there were many monkeys hanging around.
After the feeding and a ton of photos later, we went to a restaurant, on the grounds, for lunch. The sanctuary is actually a palm oil plantation owned by Chinese (Lee).
The palm oil industry is displacing the proboscis monkeys so Lee established the sanctuary at his plantation.

We also went to the 2:30 and 4:30 feedings.

The place is fantastic.

We had to take a private car to the Forest Edge Resort where we are staying tonight and tomorrow night. (back at Sepilok)
